My journey to Nepal, Asia was an unforgettable experience.

 

The visit coincided with a Hindu Shiva-Ratri festival in Kathmandu, where I  met many sadhu’s from India, making a pilgrimage to the sacred Bagmati river, and Pashupatinath temple complex. Their amazing faces and colorful costumes led to this painting some years later.

In an allegorical sense, they are balanced between the spiritual and the material worlds, a place many people feel that they are also balancing.
