A commemoration of my five month visit to Peter and Signe Bale in Wisconsin. They inherited a large farm and encouraged me to paint there for the winter, which I did. Cloistered as the weather demanded, I accomplished painting many works.

When I left, I surprised them with this painting, a whimsical interpretation of them at one of the lakes in the summer with their dogs.
